In Unit 2 we learned how to use productivity software that can be used to facilitate the organization and representation of all sorts of data. The main applications we used were Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access, along with other variations of these apps from different companies. Learning how to use these types of productivity software in depth (specifically Word) instantly took my assignments to another level. I have been able to include many more elements into my work that I would have never otherwise included if I didn't know how to use Word. As for the Excel and Access, I am sure that I will be using them in the future. For example, if I take statistics or other courses alike in the years to come, or if I pursue a career in a business-like environment, I will need to know how to use these programs. Since I now know how to use these applications inside and out, I’ll have a significant advantage over my peers/co-workers in the future.
